I recently visited the Plano Illinois Secretary of State Facility and was in shock and awe at how efficient and friendly the staff were. In particular, I want to give a big shout-out to Lydia, Jennifer, Madeline, and the kind security officer (whose name escaped my mind). They made a trip to the DMV quick and painless and helped my brother get his driver's license and vehicle registered F A S T !

Took my son to get his license today and the process was smooth sailing the whole way. #1 be there on time, #2 have all your paperwork ready (the right paperwork), #3 treat them with respect and you'll receive the same treatment in return. I will say it wasn't too busy so that helps a lot and with the whole appointment thing I think it gives everyone a better chance for a good experience because they're more organized and less stress = happier employees.

The lady with clown make up made huge deal over a valid form of identity as we had showed proof that we needed to get a Real ID drove an hour away for nothing she called the elderly manager on duty over but still no help. Went to Elgin DMV got Real ID/license without any issues this Plano facility is a joke.

All facilities require appointments now!!! FYI -You have to schedule for each person and appointment for each item you need to do. Cannot combine multiple people/task on one appt, it is the rule. So don’t get upset if you schedule one and expect EVERYTHING to be done. They made an exception for me because I am a veteran, but warned me of the regulation. Special shoutout to Kiaira. She was so nice and explained everything to me, even helped me when I had to run out and get a check (didn't make me wait in line again). These staff here are some of the nicest people around. Even towards the end of day near closing time everyone was happy and smiling.

One of the driving instructors told us we couldn't use a Tesla for the road test but we called the State Dmv and the gentlemen on the phone told us this is not true and we could use our tesla. So basically we drove 45 min to Plano for no reason because one of their driver instructors made a mistake.

My wife made an appointment to get her Real ID and for my son to get his license. The website does not allow multiple appointments but since she had all her paperwork ready and no driver's test was necessary it wouldn't take long to accomplish both. When they arrived the first employee went through all the paperwork and confirmed they had everything they needed. The second person then told her that they can only do one thing under the appointment. So she had to choose. So instead of just taking her picture and getting a signature which would take less than one minute she now has to make a second appointment and go all the way back again. The most inefficiently run place I've ever experienced.

Literally the best DMV experience I have ever had. Granted, I was fully prepared with my documents. All employees were pleasant.

While far from me (I had to travel over an hour to get a same day driving appointment) it was quick and easy. The staff was helpful and polite. It helps to have all your documents correct. It makes for a much better experience.
